Requires: 10.4+ Safari 2.0+

HistoryHound scans your browser’s cache, history, and bookmarks periodically to keep its search index up to date. It is based on Apple’s SearchKit technology, and includes a built-in WebKit browser, for in situ viewing of history pages rendered quickly and accurately. HistoryHound is shareware, with a fully-functional demo that is valid for 30 days with no limitations.
Some of HistoryHound’s usability niceties include a small search palette that you can hide in the corner of your screen, hotkey assignment, and a variety of search options.
Changes for version 1.9.5
- HistoryHound now uses the asynchronous search API that is available in Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5. Searches are much faster! Please drop us a line and let us know your impressions of the performance on your machine..
- You can constrain your searches by date. Click on “Optons” in the toolbar to open the drawer and see these new choices.
- Control-clicking on a result in the search window pops up a contextual menu with commands to go to that URL in your browser, remove that URL from your search index, and create a new filter.
- Threading problems that caused HistoryHound to generate tons of errors to the Console have been fixed.
- HistoryHound no longer crashes when you click the “Customize” button in the toolbar when running on Leopard.
